I can't upload my badge

If you are having trouble uploading your badge to Open Badge Passport, please check the following points and try again:


  1. Ensure that the badge complies with the Open Badge standard by using this validator: https://openbadgefactory.com/validator/

    If the validator reports that your badge is not valid, we recommend contacting the badge issuer for assistance.

  2. Verify that the email address to which the badge was issued is listed and marked as “Verified” in your OBP account settings under ‘Email addresses’ (see screenshot below).

    If it is not listed, add the email address and complete the verification process.



After verifying these two points, try uploading the badge again and ensure the following:

  • If importing the badge from your computer, the file format must be compatible with Open Badge Passport (PNG or PDF).
  • If importing the badge via a link, the URL provided must be the badge assertion URL.


If none of these solutions resolve the issue, please contact Open Badge Passport’s support team for further assistance.
